ABOUT US
One Love Brigade was formed in 2015 by JP Liesenfeld. His mission: to bring joy and freedom to the children of Jamaica through accessibility to bikes. With a small group of friends and a shoestring budget, One Love Brigade has brought over 400 bikes from Minnesota to Jamaica. In addition to bikes, we have distributed wheelchairs, soccer balls, shoes and other items that are hard to come by in Jamaica.
Today, in 2018, we have hundreds of bikes along with over 30 wheelchairs, soccer balls, and so much more waiting in storage containers. Expanding our efforts this year, we added a lunchroom, sickroom and administration office to Gertie McKenzie School in Sheffield. We also have collected veterinary supplies and pet carriers for the Negril Spay and Neuter Clinic. In 2019 we also distributed 100's of bikes, walkers, and wheelchairs. In 2020 we handed out over 35 tablets for children to stay in school online during the Covid outbreak and we couldn't ship our container. In 2021 we were also not able to ship our container but we handed out over 500 bags of food for families in December,
We are in need of monetary donations to get everything to Jamaica. Aside from shipping, we must pay customs tax on every donated item we import regardless of the fact they are donated goods from a charity. No one in One Love Brigade gets paid a dollar for their time, so when you support our non-profit, your items and money go directly to benefit the people and children of Jamaica.
Your support is needed. Whether it is donating time, goods, or money, your contribution is appreciated and guaranteed to create smiles for years.
